Hiroyasu Imura spent 19 years pursuing his boyhood dream of faithfully producing a replica of Himeji Castle in Hyogo Prefecture in 1:23 scale, after being given a book containing photographs of the castle on his 47th Birthday, although it wasn’t until retiring at age 60, Imura devoted his life to building the replica.

damien hirst diamond skull

Titled ‘For the love of God” this diamond encrusted skull, a work by artist Damien Hirst, is on sale for a whopping $98,000,00 US.

This work as art, in life & death, is amazing & i’d love to hold this in my hands. To quote the artist…

“I remember thinking it would be great to do a diamond one — but just prohibitively expensive,” he recalls. “Then I started to think — maybe that’s why it is a good thing to do. Death is such a heavy subject, it would be good to make something that laughed in the face of it.”
